New Super Mario Bros Wii: Impressions
Posted by - Ghostdad on December.12.09
So played NSBWii. A lot tougher then I anticipated. With up to 4 players it is a classic. New power ups are cool. I hate how tiny the damn buttons are on the wiimote. Actually I don't like the nintendo controller completely based on how tiny it is and how it really doesn't work for traditional gameplay. The nunchuk and wiimote combo works but when you're playing traditional Mario you want traditional controls. Just the damn controller is so small...

Bayonetta: Impressions
Posted by - Ghostdad on November.26.09
Ok this game is for real. Bayonetta that is. The first clock tower scene is shaky I guess if you care about framerate, it doesn't help I watched the PS3/360 comparison video for it. However beyond that part the game runs fine to me. Graphically it's like a B, but with the art directions whether the blur/grain on the entire game was intentional I push it's visuals to a B+... so far. It looks like or reminds me of... Hellsing? Basically the game reminds...

God of War 3 Demo: Impressions
Posted by - Ghostdad on November.12.09
Wow! I forgot to give you impressions! This is going to be a hell of a game, it was the E3 demo but I was really really surprised how much was left to play from what they showed on stage. Only about half was shown, which was a shame because the demo ends on a high note. If you've played the previous GOW games, basically the third game has bigger graphics, bigger setpieces, more gore then I can ever remember. We had out female cousin watching the demo...

GTA4: The Ballad of Gay Tony Review
Posted by - anone on November.03.09
The name of the game is Grand Theft Auto: the Ballad of Gay Tony which is the latest episode in the Grand Theft Auto franchise for the Xbox360 developed by Rockstar North. This latest episode once again brings us back to the world that is Liberty City and all of it's gritty, and funny, characteristics that we've come to love through playing GTA4 and the previous episode "The Lost and Damned". The game stars protagonist Luis Lopez as the main character...

NY Anime Festival 2009
Posted by - anone on October.17.09
There was a lot that went on at this year's New York Anime Festival, and on the other hand there wasn't anything going on at this year's Anime Festival. I enjoyed the cosplay and I enjoyed the... schwag?! Well, somehow buried amongst the mayhem and half-nekkid cosplayers wandering around the Jacob Javits center was this little gem that seemed to sneak up on us. The game's name... escapes me right now. Fairytale stories or something. I don't think...

Scribblenauts: Impressions
Posted by - Ghostdad on September.20.09
What to say about this game... I honestly and this is sincere. I don't know if it's a good game or if it's a bad game. Basically put 2 hrs into this game, there are 10 worlds I believe with like 11 stages per world. However each stage has a puzzle mode or action mode. Puzzle mode you have to solve something, action mode you have to reach your destination and/or do something. The whole act of getting through the game is you have your imagination at...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Impressions
Posted by - Ghostdad on September.18.09
Flat out enjoying it! Same old smash and mash gameplay. I chose Wolverine based on healing factor, it really goes a loooong way. I mean when you don't have to heal yourself... it's pretty awesome. As per usual you have to unlock characters along the way and some characters are straight up DLC. I'm did some Juggernaut scam yesterday so hopefully I get the free DLC code for him otherwise its $1.99. But you know... and I hate Activision right now I still...

NBA2K10 Draft Combine: Impressions
Posted by - Ghostdad on September.14.09
Didn't do that much gaming this weekend, I got caught up watching House on TV and subsequently went out and picked up the TV show on DVDs. It's easily my favorite show on TV and maybe ever. I did however finish the NBA Draft Combine. Incredibly disappointed overall with it after I "beat" it. You are limited to 6 drills and 6 games, but after which you can continue playing with scrimmages, and shoot-arounds. However neither of these help to build...

GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony
Posted by - anone on September.07.09
Can't say that I'm not looking forward to the Ballad of Gay Tony when the truth is that I am. I enjoyed the exploits of Niko like no other main character before him, and really learned to appreciate the living breathing world that was found in Liberty City. I didn't have the same reaction to the adventures found in 'The Lost and the Damned'. Somehow the trials and tribulations of a biker gang didn't quite resonate as well as the immigrant struggle...

Review: King of Fighters 12
Posted by - Psychoblack718 on September.07.09
The Street Fighter series, which has been the most world renown fighting game for ages, has been sitting at the top of the mountain as 'King'. Many have tried to take down the long standing champion and many have failed. One game that has wrestled with the titan and is still (somewhat) standing is... of course I'm talking about The King Of Fighters series with the latest entry being King Of Fighters 12 for the Xbox360 and PS3. Can this game hold its...

Review: BlazBlue
Posted by - Psychoblack718 on September.06.09
In this day and age the fighting genre is actually over crowded. In contrast to what the landscape looked like a few years ago today's day and age is that of one with so many generic 2D fighters on the market it is hard to stand out. While the crown is still held by Street Fighter there are many other competitors out there trying their best to take the crown. We all know about Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and the Dead or Alive series. A little known company...

Dissidia: Final Fantasy Review
Posted by - Psychoblack718 on September.04.09
Well Final Fantasy nerds rejoice. The game that all you pasty faced fanboys wanted is finally here. This game is, of course, Dissidia: Final Fantasy. In this game you can pit your favorite FF heroes against their respective villains and vice versa. (But we all know there is going to be an assload of Cloud vs Squall and Cloud vs Sephiroth videos on YouTube). Yes, this is 'Fanboy Fantasy'.
