NY Anime Festival 2009

There was a lot that went on at this year's New York Anime Festival, and on the other hand there wasn't anything going on at this year's Anime Festival. I enjoyed the cosplay and I enjoyed the... schwag?! Well, somehow buried amongst the mayhem and half-nekkid cosplayers wandering around the Jacob Javits center was this little gem that seemed to sneak up on us.
The game's name... escapes me right now. Fairytale stories or something. I don't think anyone expected this game to be nearly this engrossing at first glancing, including the agent working the booth. He managed to get so subdued by the game that we managed to get nearly a full half-hour of game time on the show floor while he played co-op.

I want to give some quick impressions on the movie Cloverfield
I caught Cloverfield for the first time on DVD last week. I was genuinely, appreciably, surprised at what I found. Initially walking into the film I knew that they were good things said about it, however, I tried to intentionally keep myself in the dark on a lot of the feedback and criticism that the movie received in order to guarantee that my impressions of the film will be fresh and untainted. Again, I really enjoyed Cloverfield. I really didn't expect much going into the film except that it was going to be a modern take on the Godzilla story. I kind of expected that there would be a monster running through the city, and I had heard that a lot of the film (all of the film) is actually shot on cell phone cameras. That’s about it.

What to say about this game... I honestly and this is sincere. I don't know if it's a good game or if it's a bad game.
Basically put 2 hrs into this game, there are 10 worlds I believe with like 11 stages per world. However each stage has a puzzle mode or action mode. Puzzle mode you have to solve something, action mode you have to reach your destination and/or do something. The whole act of getting through the game is you have your imagination at your disposal and it's up to you to figure out how to get through the stages using the notepad to write whatever it is you want to summon. Like reading that... you're probably thinking... hey that's a pretty damn cool concept. Surprisingly... it's rather difficult because I even found myself reusing the same things over and over. You can which is both good and bad. Maybe it's to my personal fault that I suck at being creative when getting through a stage. However this is also applied in the game as well. Prince of Persia Movie TrailerNov.03.09
The Prince of Persia movie trailer has made it's way to the web and I'm not sure I like what I see. The trailer has all the charactersitics of a Jerry Bruckheimer gig, however, I'm starting to get the bad 'Pirates' vibe from watching this trailer. I mean "At world's end" bad. It seems like the movie is a little over the top and overboard. Lots of explosions, lots of fire, and even some magic. Not sure what all is going on, and I honestly haven't played any of the recent PoP games, so I can't say with certainty if I like or not. Anyone play the games can clue me in as to what the deal is?

I know the 80s is the new fashion trend right now with kids who didn't not grow up during that era like I did. I still say that I was still a baby while only in Kindergarten when the 80s ended...
