Trailer Impressions: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Pt. 1

Below is the latest trailer for the latest upcoming Harry Potter movie. I must say that the trailer does certainly look impressive. Lots of implied action from within the trailer to excite and titillate fans while waiting for this November release (if it doesn’t get pushed back). I admit that the trailer does have me pretty interested to see how the series will crescendo to it’s finale, but I am also still a little ticked off by the last movie. I really got a lot of the same impression from the trailers for the Half Blood prince only to find a movie that was devoid of excitement and energy that made me begin to appreciate the series in the first place. This trailer implies that there is more action and energy but after inspecting closely it really doesnt. There’s the appropriate dramatic music, the key words/phrases like “they’re after him!” and “bring him to me” and all that, but it can all be a setup. I would like to see the film deliver on the implied promises, but it can be a tool to help ensure that fans will see both part 1 and 2 and leave us on a cliffhanger that shows even more promising action… which can be good like it was in “The Lord of the Rings” series, or bad like in “the Matrix Reloaded”. Time will tell.
