Rini adventures at Comic Con 2011 Part UNE

This pass Comic Con there was a lot interesting sites in addition to costumes. Sadly I lost most of my footage from the Con due to misplacement of my camera at a friends event and someone stole it, but I somehow had a few shoots still left. Just not the great ones I wanted to share with the masses. Completely caught as walking by one of the vendor displays and noticed but little old Hasbro ... Read More!

Doctor Strange searching for a director

There’s one movie that Marvel has been toying with for years that definitely has my attention and it’s the one featuring Dr. Stephen Strange. Ya see, the problem with the development of the movie is that Dr. Strange isn’t exactly a household name and may be a bit of a tough sell. Marvel tested the waters with the excellent Dr. Strange animated movie and continued the idea of ... Read More!

RUMOR: Sin City 2 filming soon

RUMOR: Sin City 2 filming soon Sin City was a fine film back in it’s time, capturing the hearts of many theater viewers as they watched the grisly but engrossing movie play out on the screen. Again, that was a great movie for that time. It’s been 6 years since that film was released and fans have been eagerly awaiting another helping of that noir stuff. Today we learn that Rob ... Brian Kirk Might Direct Thor 2

Who is Brian Kirk? He’s the guy who’s directed a few episodes of the popular HBO show “Game of Thrones”, and what Marvel views as a perfect candidate to take over directing duties from the departing Kenneth Branaugh to bring our favorite Asgardian back to the silver screen. Irish auteur Brian Kirk, best known for directing numerous episodes of the first season of ... Read More!

First Look at our Man of Steel

And Welcome Back! After a brief hiatus to do some blogging on TheMovieBlog.com, I’ve returned and it seems that my return came at a really opportune time with a lot of news surrounding the upcoming Superman Reboot being released, with everything culminating in today’s release of our first look at Henry Caville as the iconic character. I’m actually really liking this look. I ... Read More!

Impressions: Thor

I think a lot of people out there are just settling for films and saying ‘oh this movie is ok, or it’s good.’ I mean the same could be said about Fast Five and I really enjoyed that film. It’s so odd how to classify or make your own review, judgment of a movie and saying where it rests for me. I mean is it just bad or would you recommend catching it in the theatre? I ... Read More!

Quick Thoughts: Captain America The First Avenger

Captain America was ok. The most interesting parts I found were when Chris Evans was digitized as the smaller Steve Rogers, or the original one I should say. He played that roll well. I think the casting overall was excellent but seemingly under utilized. The two hours go by real fast and the action sequences are more montage than anything else, which really lessens the impact of things. You ... Read More!

Impressions: Transformers Dark of the Moon

I have absolutely no idea what happened in Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. For a lack of a better phrase, that’s exactly how I describe watching Bay’s hopefully last installment in this franchise. It’s not to say the man didn’t do a serviceable job giving us a live-action experience of toys you may or may not have grown up to. It was just so evidently clear to me that ... Read More!

Impressions: Green Lantern

This movie shouldn’t have been made. There were a lot of things that bugged me about this film, pacing, story, transitions. I think casting was off too in the end, but in truth it could’ve just been the delivery of the story itself. It suffered from the same problems I found with Thor, to which Thor is definitely the better film but that’s not saying much at all. The Green ... Read More!

Wonder Woman’s New Costume for New Televsion series

The talk on every site lately have been of a new Wonder Woman costume and less about the show.. All I have to say about this new Wonder Woman costume is “Epic fail”. It looks  sutiable for a hooker to wear then Wonder Woman. The suit looks like a plastic work out bodysuit turned into a $29.99 plus tax Wonder Woman Halloween costume. The person that actually took the time and effort ... Read More!

The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra

Collider has a look at the new animated adventures that will soon premiere on Cartoon Network that further chronicles the adventures of the “Avatar” with a new cast, supporting cast, and new Avatar that picks up the story 100 years after the conclusion of the last series and is expected to last 26 episodes as a mini series sequel. An overview on Wikipedia shares: Korra (Varney) is a ... Read More!

Marvel’s Anime

Looks like we have a decent comic book series meet anime domination happening now. Over the fall for New York’s annual Big Apple Comic-Con/Anime Festival. I had the pleasure of hearing about some projects that Marvel had in store for us with a three new series and a few more in the making.  In the past I have know that Japan has took a crack at making some of Marvel’s comics into anime ... Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon

I stumbled on this movie trailer on themovieblog but by the time I loaded the page the video had already been removed, but found another floating on the web. So far this movie reeks of Michael Bay. Shiny stuff all over the place just begging for an explosion to come and make things complete. I kid, but it really does look cinematic and stylistic in a way that I’ve only seen Michael Bay ... Spider-Man film cast takes shape

I may not show it much, but I was very very disappointed when Sam Raimi backed out of the proposed Spider-man 4. I don’t want to beat a dead horse too much, but Spider-man 3 was… a disappointment critically, but very very successful commercially. I wasn’t too fond of some of the ideas proposed for the 4th film that made their way online, but some were really good. Anne ... Read More!

Impressions: Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam

I finally started watching some of the DC Showcase shorts that have been included with their recent DVD feature film releases. This particular short is actually a bit longer than the typical showcase’s of the past that were about 10-13 mins in length, with Shazam getting some much appreciated feature time coming in at a TV episode worth time of 22+ mins! The first thing that caught my ... Read More!

Green Lantern mini-preview

Thanks to the Movie Blog I found that EW has a 30 second mini video preview of the upcoming Green Lantern movie. What is there to say? Well, one could make quite a few obvious observations. This is not the Hal Jordan we know from the comics. A few quick back handed comments out of Ryan Reynolds mouth and we find that this GL has a sense of humor. Not surprising as I’ve yet to see a comic ... Read More!

Impressions: R.E.D.

R.E.D. is a movie I had been mildly looking forward to ever since receiving some promotional material about the movie sometime in 2009. The movie stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirrin, and Mary-Louise Parker (for good measure). It’s an cast and an interesting action-comedy that features characters that are passed their prime. I gotta say i think this is a cool ... Read More!
