I liked the first Pirates of the Caribbean. I don’t think I was as huge a fan as others on the web, but I thought the movie was pretty well done and very enjoyable for people of all ages. I like the Jack Sparrow character enough from the first film, and thought he was just as enjoyable in the subsequent movies even if the movies themselves weren’t as enjoyable and I am certainly looking forward to some more of Johnny Depp enjoying himself as he performs his craft as Jack Sparrow.

I really think this trailer reminds me of the previous movies. I don’t think things are instantly better with the absence of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly, as the new supporting cast seems to be following in their footsteps. Johnny Depp was never the weak link in the previous trilogy so I’m not too surprised at what I see from him, but everything else seems like the generic “Pirates” formula at this point. I hope further looks into the film change my mind.
