Impressions: Inception

Inception. My two word review: Frighteningly Incredible. This movie from a pure conceptual standpoint is brilliant, it was my type of movie and to spoil it would be a disservice to you. I went in with blackout mode in full effect, saw the trailer in the theatres way back learned what the inception was but once I got to the theatre I seemingly forget what the inception was and learned it all over again. It was a treat. I’ve been reading impressions all weekend and some reviews, Ebert put it nicely in a way to describe the movie in a spoiler-esque way. He said somewhere along the lines of, I could tell you how the movie ends and you would know, but you wouldn’t know what the ending meant based on you never experienced the journey of Inception from start to finish. Without this journey you just won’t understand the film at all. Will I tell you the ending? Hell no. All I’m saying is, after watching this movie about 4 hours later, I wanted to watch it again. Will I in the theatres? Nope. I will buy it Day One though, price pending. I can’t even go on to describe this movie any further other than that it is my favorite movie of the summer, maybe of the year at this point. I don’t mean to hype it up even further and with the rumblings on the web, etc if you haven’t watched it yet it’ll be hard to go in really empty minded. A lot of everything I watch nowadays I go in just not having any real expectations. This movie always felt like the “matrix woah” to me and I got that. There are seriously specific words I want to use right now to talk about this but I can’t based on I don’t even want to give the inkling of a remote spoiler. I will say DO NOT watch it in IMAX, it was not shot in IMAX save your money. I will close in saying with how intricate and overly complex Inception is, it truthfully is simple as well in the most simplest of ways. How Nolan created a movie both simple and complex at the same type, using the subject matter that he did. It’s really amazing. OH. The casting in this movie, was splendid. It was very Ocean’s Eleven like. Ellen Page in this movie, she pulled an Adrian Brody for me, great job. At times she became incredibly attractive it was bizarre. Leonardo DiCaprio, dude is fantastic. Then you have Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy and a great list of other up and comers. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this guy did a fantastic job, role characters but they were very fun to watch. Anyway if you watch it we can have more to discuss. Loved it though, definitely really enjoyed this movie. I saw Inception and Toy Story 3 back to back, it was easily THE best movie combination I’ve watched in a theatre or ever personally
