RUMOR: Sin City 2 filming soon
Sin City was a fine film back in it’s time, capturing the hearts of many theater viewers as they watched the grisly but engrossing movie play out on the screen. Again, that was a great movie for that time. It’s been 6 years since that film was released and fans have been eagerly awaiting another helping of that noir stuff. Today we learn that Rob Rodriguez is still very much commited to making this film a reality, and is aiming to begin filming this year.

We have everything we need so we can just start shooting as soon as we get the pages… We’ve already got the budget, just waiting for the script. As soon as we’re finished writing we get to start the shoot.”
Sounds great to me as I greatly enjoyed the original movie. The performances and imagery were top notch for that movie and I’ve eagerly awaited a sequel but I don’t like the implied pressure. It’s not often that I hear a movie has received financing and whatnot while these guys race against the proverbial clock to finish the script so they can film. I love it when a team gets to take their time so this news is a bit worrying, especially since they haven’t finished this script in the 6 years since the original movie was released. I’ll keep an eye out for more news but this movie’s status currently has me concerned.
