Doctor Strange searching for a director

There’s one movie that Marvel has been toying with for years that definitely has my attention and it’s the one featuring Dr. Stephen Strange. Ya see, the problem with the development of the movie is that Dr. Strange isn’t exactly a household name and may be a bit of a tough sell. Marvel tested the waters with the excellent Dr. Strange animated movie and continued the idea of developing a live action adaptation of the property. Today we find out that not only is the script now complete, they are searching for a director to bring the Sorcerer Supreme to the silver screen.

Twitch reports that screenwriters, Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly have handed in their script for ‘Doctor Strange,’ and that Marvel has decided to push forward with the project. They have an unnamed shortlist of directors who they’ve sent the script out to. Oppenheimer and Donnelly have made a habit out of working together. Their work includes a draft of the script for ‘Cowboys And Aliens,’ as well as final work on ‘Dylan Dog: Dead of Night’ and the upcoming, ‘Conan the Barbarian.’

I’m really looking forward to a Doctor Strange movie. He’s not a character to be underestimated! He has a very interesting origin story studying in tibetan mountains honing his skills similar to Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. He may not be one of the most obvious choices but neither was Blade back in 1998, and it seems that worked out pretty well. They haven’t released who’s on their shortlist, but I’m curious who they may have in mind. The obvious choice for me would be Guillermo Del Toro, but the guy has his hands full adapting everything for everything. Who would you like see take on directing duties for this movie?
