Gamespot is reporting that Gears of war is the latest in line of game-to-film adaptation trend that’s been going around.
Variety is reporting today that New Line Cinema has acquired themovie rights to Gears of War. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will producethe film, which is being written by Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the CaribbeanCollateral). No more details of the movie have been released, including crew and release date.
This joins a long list of games awaiting their hollywood debut, as of late with Sony working on bringing Metal Gear Solid to the big screen, Jerry Bruckheimer bringing his brand of action to Prince of Persia, and Warner Bros. affiliate Legendary Pictures working on a World of Warcraft movie, fans of the respective series’ have a lot to look forward to. That is if there aren’t any problems.
