Paul and Milla returning for Resident Evil 5

Paul W.S. Anderson has overseen the entire Resident Evil movie franchise since its inception. I really like the movies thus far and am surprisingly excited about the idea of him continuing the franchise. When things first started all i could do was nitpick the changes he made for the movie from its source material, but these days I genuinely enjoy seeing Alice on screen chasing Wesker across the globe, and apparently so do Paul and Milla.

Anderson has now been confirmed as both writer and director of the film, which will reportedly see Milla Jovovich’s Alice joined by a few familiar faces from the original Resident Evil video game and computer-animated movie universe – who have not shown up in live-action form before.

BD Horror News has confirmed that Anderson is directing his own screenplay for Retribution, like he did with the first and fourth Resident Evil movies (he scripted and produced the second and third films). Just like last year’s Resident Evil: Afterlife, the new installment will be shot in 3D.

Another one in 3D eh? I didn’t bother to see the last movie in 3D and don’t intend to see the next entry that way. Last movie I saw in 3D turned me off to the entire thing for quite a while. Probably just eye fatigue the movie in question was Transformers 3 which clocked in at about 3hrs in length and caused some discomfort about half way thru. Either way, this one is on the ‘radar’ and deserving so.
