Here comes the PSP2

It’s been heavily rumored and long in the waiting but Sony finally came clean about the existence and their plans for their follow up to the PSP currently titled the Next Generation Portable.  Here are the details that were revealed and leaked in the past 24 hrs: Playstation Meeting 2011 It was all about their strategic plan heading forwards in terms of networking their devices and ... Another Final Fantasy gets a sequel

10 years ago it was blasphemous to even think that Square would revisit any of the characters or worlds from previous Final Fantasy iterations. Then came the new millennium and shortly thereafter we received the excellent FFX-2 as well as some Final Fantasy 7 spin-offs. Last year we received the critically thrashed Final Fantasy 13, and some thought that would be the last we saw of that ... Read More!

Fight Night Champion enters the ring…

Looks like we’re going to getting some more Fight Night courtesy of EA. They released the press release earlier today announcing their intentions to continue creating titles within this franchise and I certainly look forward to another opportunity to enter the squared circle. I never got around to playing Fight Night round 4 which would have been my logical opportunity to try it again but ... Read More!

Impressions: Vanquish (PS3)

This game can definitely be beat in probably 90min and then it would really feel like playing an animated movie. Vanquish was incredibly stylish and extremely satisfying gameplay wise. From a pure gameplay perspective, it’s a must play. A step above Bayonetta I’d say and maybe I’m bias because it’s more in my genre. It helped it reminded me of Zone of the Enders in ... Read More!

Review: Snakebyte XL Wii Motion Plus

The Snakebyte Wii Motion plus controller is one of the latest 3rd party controllers to be released in the wake of Wii Motion Plus. I don’t have any experience with any other products from Snakebyte, and really hadn’t heard of them before this product, but I have to admit that they have won me over with a very impressive and very competent product that certainly got the job done and did ... Phoenix and Haggar Join cast of Marvel vs. Capcom 3

I’m really starting to get excited about this game as Capcom continues to pummel us with more characters, screens, and videos of the latest additions to the cast. I was thinking about holding off on picking this game up because of the dust that’s being collected on my copies of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Street Fighter 4, and the dust on the store shelf that has the Super Street Fighter ... Tomb Raider Trilogy Coming to PS3

Square-Enix is really starting to get into this Tomb Raider business as they seem to be planning to release the last 3 games in some mega combo pack coming this March! I haven’t played Tomb Raider since the PS1 age but I’ve heard a lot of great things about the series once Crystal Dynamics took over from Core. I’d be interested in trying these games out if they come with a ... Read More!

Impressions: ‘Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’

I have to say that I really was looking forward to playing Uncharted 2. I played a bit of Uncharted 1 and really wasn’t impressed with the game that I was playing. Maybe I played the game at the wrong time? 2010 may not have been the gaming environment that the original game was prepared for, but Uncharted 2 brought a whole other entertaining and interesting experience from beginning to ... Review: Castlevania

From a playability standpoint this game is really long, some 52 levels I believe it was. I don’t even know what the final time stamp was on the game, but it took about 3-4 days of solid sessions, basically time you actually commit to playing a game cause you need X amount of hours to play and progress far enough. Having watched/played a bit of the stages of Castlevania, then beating Fist ... Read More!

Re-Cap: Fist of the North Star

Average game is average, news at 11. It’s a C game, it’s a 65-73% game on the % scale. Was it fun to play? Absolutely. Was it a bit repetitive? For sure. Is there a lot of replay? Hell yes. This game truly appeals to the fan and that’s the draw. I’ve waited for a game like this for a very long time and it’s made me want to re-watch Fist of the North Star I beat ... Read More!

Impressions: Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage

I picked up Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage for the PS3. The game was monotonous at first, slow paced but it’s become more fun as I upgrade along. It’s basically Dynasty Warriors with The Fist of the North Star skin. There is more to it, I had to unlock coop which I haven’t even touched yet and was the main reason I got the game for my brother and I to sit down button ... Read More!

Just Sayin: Microsoft Kinect

Microsoft made a mistake. Not the first time, and not something that will cripple them, but it’s a mistake nonetheless. I don’t buy into the whole “you are the controller” thing.  I know some people are going bat crazy over the whole thing, but I will not submit. I actually stopped by to see the guys waiting in line the day before launch. Truthfully, I wasn’t at ... Read More!

Incoming: Super Street Fighter 4 Costume Pack

I don’t like the idea of Super Street Fighter 4. Period. I like the game well enough, but I hate the idea of its existence. The game is a remixed, refined, re-released version of Street Fighter 4, what’s not to like? The fact that the game wasn’t DLC is one reason, and the fact that the additions aren’t as re-defining as one would hope given the time between the release between the ... Read More!

Impressions: Castlevania Lords of Shadow

Beautiful looking game, scenery and art direction is really nice. Some of the character designs, mainly the love interest in wonky especially given everyone else. It has a Guillermo Del Toro feel with some of the creatures which was actually bizarre, refreshing but also kind of copy cat. The epic feel of the soundtrack is nice, it’s consistent and the levels seemed varied so far. Only ... Read More!

Deca Sports 3?! Already?

You should have seen the look on my face as I read the subject line in my inbox. “Deca Sport 3 Launch News!” I don’t think I’ve had that look on my face since last weeks game with the Yankees. When did they launch Deca Sports 2? This compilation may not include baseball as one of the sports in this package, but it does appear to be a interesting new set of games chosen ... Read More!

Media Overload: Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare

The upcoming Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare pack is coming and I just don’t know how to contain the excitement. Red Dead Redemption was a pleasant surprise for me (check out my impressions) and now a new reinvigorating DLC is coming for the game that is just begging for me to evict NBA2K 11 from my PS3. Now if only Sony or MS could sponsor some ‘Episodes’ for this game ... Read More!

Captain America: Super Soldier gameplay

I didn’t even know that there was a Captain America game coming out. I mean, I should have assumed because you would have to be a pretty low profile Marvel movie to not get a tie-in game. REAAL Low. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised to see stumble across the game at Comic con. I must admit, I get the impression that they started development on this game sometime in the last 12 ... Goldeneye Wii: Multiplayer

Somehow at the recent NYCC we were able to capture some hands off video of the upcoming Goldeneye for Wii and its split screen multiplayer. It was a “hands-off” experience because those damn nerds can give away free hugs but not the Wiimote. Must be a testament to the fun or something. Either way, the game is coming along nicely, I just don’t know how comfortable I feel ... Read More!
