Impressions: Castlevania Lords of Shadow

Beautiful looking game, scenery and art direction is really nice. Some of the character designs, mainly the love interest in wonky especially given everyone else. It has a Guillermo Del Toro feel with some of the creatures which was actually bizarre, refreshing but also kind of copy cat. The epic feel of the soundtrack is nice, it’s consistent and the levels seemed varied so far. Only ... Read More!

Impressions: R.E.D.

R.E.D. is a movie I had been mildly looking forward to ever since receiving some promotional material about the movie sometime in 2009. The movie stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirrin, and Mary-Louise Parker (for good measure). It’s an cast and an interesting action-comedy that features characters that are passed their prime. I gotta say i think this is a cool ... Read More!

Getting to know: Warren Spector

I had a lovely conversation with Warren Spector this past weekend. The guy is outright down to earth and didn’t accidentally evoke the inner geek in me to expose my secret Star Struck Syndrome. The whole thing was rather unexpected as it was the last day of the New York Comic Con and I was wandering around the vast halls of the Jacob Javits center admiring all the artwork and videos on ... Quick Thoughts: Marvel VS Capcom 3

This past weekend I had the pleasure of playing one of my guilty pleasures, Marvel VS Capcom 3. I was like a kid in the candy store as I stood around the booth and glanced at all the other players. It was bit crowded for my taste, but it was worth standing in line. What I liked most from their booth was the mini-contest going on as everyone stood on this long line to play on the big screen with ... Read More!

NYCC Developer’s Panel: Epic Mickey

This weekend I had the chance to listen to the developers behind Epic Mickey at their NYCC panel. Entering the panel I was a bit puzzled by what was going on, but they were getting stuff checked out and ready before they start of the discussion. I was a bit shocked that they were starting it already. I must say for the time I spent at the panel it was very well put together with few technical ... Read More!

NYCC 2010: Green Lantern TAS Preview

Something new to look forward is the upcoming Green Lantern Animated Series. We may have missed the announcement at the DC panel during NYCC, but Screen Rant has us covered with some really cool pics showcasing sketches, character notes, and more for the upcoming series as well as a shaky cam video preview. I have a bit of apprehension once I see that a TV show has chosen to go the CGI route ... Read More!

Getting to know: Joe Madureira

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Big Apple Comic Con. I just have to say that it wasn’t much of what I expected, but enjoyable. The only real part of the whole ordeal that I was looking forward to was to finally meet the great Joe Madureira. This man has been, and probably still is, a living legend at my former high school Art and Design. He rose to super stardom there ... Read More!

Impressions: Castlevania Lords of Shadow Demo

This game looks beautiful; it tries to be epic and comes off feeling like I’m playing Lord of the Rings. Lighting and sound seemingly have high production values. Multiple settings and really nice art direction, I saw a snowy castle, a dark forest, night and day areas, very Lord of the Rings but not as shitty as a game as a LOTR game. I’m interested in this game based on the Hideo ... Read More!

Impressions: Devil

This Friday I took a chance to go see a movie and I saw Devil.  I have to say that the worst mistake I made in my life.  I seriously don’t understand how M. Night continues to be involved with movies. Why hasn’t he been banned from Hollywood.  This movie was worst than The Happening! To make a long story short this movie is based on an idea of when the devil comes to prey on ... Read More!

Impressions: Dead Rising 2

Dead Rising 2 Started playing Dead Rising 2. Pretty much the same game as the first one, same 72 hour clock. I have given this sequel more of a chance than the first game but I came to the same conclusion once I was able to start driving a motorcycle around the mall mowing down zombies. The idea of it is fun, but the controls are so finnicky. In the sense the animation sequences always need to ... Read More!

Impressions: Enslaved Demo

Enslaved Demo This is the game by Ninja Theory, who also developed Heavenly Sword. I believe the reason they made Enslaved is because Sony owns the Heavenly Sword IP and the engine they used to create the game, so if you play Enslaved and roll your eyes when you see the Unreal Engine is being used that’s why. They also went multiplatform because they made no money from Heavenly Sword and ... Read More!

Big Apple Comic Con 2010

We attended the show over the weekend and had a blast. There was a really nice size crowd who turned out and attended the show as well as unexpected stars and guests! Wondering what was my personal highlight? Finally meeting the Famed X-Men artist, Creator of Battle Chasers, and artist of the Ultimates 3, (Mr. Bumpy-knuckles himself), the one and only Joe Madureira! Dude was a legend in my ... Read More!

Impressions: Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse is an animated movie, and sequel to “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies”. The film is an adaptation of the Storyline published in the Superman/Batman comics titled “The Girl from Krypton” which is a modern take on the story of Supergirl. The film stars longtime, and beloved, voice actors Kevin Conroy, and Tim Daly reprising their roles as Batman and ... Read More!

Watch-out for the Big Apple’s Comic Con…

Some of us already know the legacy of the Big Apple Comic Con. Some of us. The Big Apple Comic Con is the longest running (that I know of) annual comic book convention in the NYC area. It’s a daunting, but exciting convention to attend and this year’s show seems to be prepped to be bigger and more extravagant than conventions past. The guest list is outstanding and should be found ... Read More!

Trailer Impressions: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Pt. 1

Below is the latest trailer for the latest upcoming Harry Potter movie. I must say that the trailer does certainly look impressive. Lots of implied action from within the trailer to excite and titillate fans while waiting for this November release (if it doesn’t get pushed back). I admit that the trailer does have me pretty interested to see how the series will crescendo to it’s ... Read More!

Impressions: Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption. (What the hell does that mean anyway?) The game places you in the role of John Marston, an ex-outlaw and current protagonist of the story. The game takes place pretty much in the early 1900’s and is in the genre of “Western” through and through. Adventure? Check. Drama? Check! Open World? Check. Prostitutes? Kinda. Comedy in a satirical way? All that! Yes, this ... Read More!

Quick Thoughts: Tekken the Movie

I must really like to put myself through torture. To watch this bullcrap excuse of a movie is like asking someone just shoot me in the head. I don’t know about you, but I just think all these video game companies must love these movie studios destroying the characters and stories they diligently developed. Don’t get me wrong they have screwed up a few comics and some TV-series ... Read More!

Resident Evil Afterlife: Impressions

Caught “Resident Evil: Afterlife” this weekend. I actually thought this movie was called Resident Evil 3D. Something on a technical note, this is the first film since Avatar to use James Cameron’s camera, the Fusion Camera System. RE3D, (I’m just going to call it that), was solely designed to be a spectacle to show off slow motion 3D action. The CGI is poor in some areas, and ... Read More!

Impressions: The King of Fighters Movie

Watched that King of the Fighters movie last night. Good lord, what a horrible movie. I can’t even go into specifics except the whole thing was just horrible. 5 minutes in I was thinking I should just watch MacGruber and at least get some laughs. The movie makes any movie look good, like the Chun Li Street Fighter movie, Battlefield Earth, The Avengers (with Ralph Fiennes and Uma ... Read More!

Impressions: The Expendables

What do you get when you gather a bunch of the top action stars from the 80’s and 90’s into one movie? It has something to do with blood, guns, women and tons of fun put neatly together in “The Expendables”. I can honestly say I enjoyed the movie. The film was directed and written by Sylvester Stallone. You can tell it was a movie that he wrote due to the subject matter he is ... Read More!
