Re-Cap: Fist of the North Star

Average game is average, news at 11. It’s a C game, it’s a 65-73% game on the % scale. Was it fun to play? Absolutely. Was it a bit repetitive? For sure. Is there a lot of replay? Hell yes. This game truly appeals to the fan and that’s the draw. I’ve waited for a game like this for a very long time and it’s made me want to re-watch Fist of the North Star I beat ... Read More!

Green Lantern mini-preview

Thanks to the Movie Blog I found that EW has a 30 second mini video preview of the upcoming Green Lantern movie. What is there to say? Well, one could make quite a few obvious observations. This is not the Hal Jordan we know from the comics. A few quick back handed comments out of Ryan Reynolds mouth and we find that this GL has a sense of humor. Not surprising as I’ve yet to see a comic ... Read More!

Impressions: Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage

I picked up Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage for the PS3. The game was monotonous at first, slow paced but it’s become more fun as I upgrade along. It’s basically Dynasty Warriors with The Fist of the North Star skin. There is more to it, I had to unlock coop which I haven’t even touched yet and was the main reason I got the game for my brother and I to sit down button ... Read More!

Trailer: The Warriors Way

If it wasn’t for the TV spot I would have let this one go by the wayside. The Warrior’s Way is coming, and it’s coming out swinging! The imagery and action remind me of a mix of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and “Hero” with a bit of Zack Snyder for good measure. I’m a sucker for karate flicks and have developed a mild interest in westerns thanks to the story that was given in ... Read More!

Just Sayin: Microsoft Kinect

Microsoft made a mistake. Not the first time, and not something that will cripple them, but it’s a mistake nonetheless. I don’t buy into the whole “you are the controller” thing.  I know some people are going bat crazy over the whole thing, but I will not submit. I actually stopped by to see the guys waiting in line the day before launch. Truthfully, I wasn’t at ... Read More!

Incoming: Super Street Fighter 4 Costume Pack

I don’t like the idea of Super Street Fighter 4. Period. I like the game well enough, but I hate the idea of its existence. The game is a remixed, refined, re-released version of Street Fighter 4, what’s not to like? The fact that the game wasn’t DLC is one reason, and the fact that the additions aren’t as re-defining as one would hope given the time between the release between the ... Read More!

Impressions: Castlevania Lords of Shadow

Beautiful looking game, scenery and art direction is really nice. Some of the character designs, mainly the love interest in wonky especially given everyone else. It has a Guillermo Del Toro feel with some of the creatures which was actually bizarre, refreshing but also kind of copy cat. The epic feel of the soundtrack is nice, it’s consistent and the levels seemed varied so far. Only ... Read More!

Impressions: R.E.D.

R.E.D. is a movie I had been mildly looking forward to ever since receiving some promotional material about the movie sometime in 2009. The movie stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirrin, and Mary-Louise Parker (for good measure). It’s an cast and an interesting action-comedy that features characters that are passed their prime. I gotta say i think this is a cool ... Read More!

Deca Sports 3?! Already?

You should have seen the look on my face as I read the subject line in my inbox. “Deca Sport 3 Launch News!” I don’t think I’ve had that look on my face since last weeks game with the Yankees. When did they launch Deca Sports 2? This compilation may not include baseball as one of the sports in this package, but it does appear to be a interesting new set of games chosen ... Read More!

Media Overload: Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare

The upcoming Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare pack is coming and I just don’t know how to contain the excitement. Red Dead Redemption was a pleasant surprise for me (check out my impressions) and now a new reinvigorating DLC is coming for the game that is just begging for me to evict NBA2K 11 from my PS3. Now if only Sony or MS could sponsor some ‘Episodes’ for this game ... Read More!

Captain America: Super Soldier gameplay

I didn’t even know that there was a Captain America game coming out. I mean, I should have assumed because you would have to be a pretty low profile Marvel movie to not get a tie-in game. REAAL Low. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised to see stumble across the game at Comic con. I must admit, I get the impression that they started development on this game sometime in the last 12 ... Goldeneye Wii: Multiplayer

Somehow at the recent NYCC we were able to capture some hands off video of the upcoming Goldeneye for Wii and its split screen multiplayer. It was a “hands-off” experience because those damn nerds can give away free hugs but not the Wiimote. Must be a testament to the fun or something. Either way, the game is coming along nicely, I just don’t know how comfortable I feel ... Read More!

Getting to know: Warren Spector

I had a lovely conversation with Warren Spector this past weekend. The guy is outright down to earth and didn’t accidentally evoke the inner geek in me to expose my secret Star Struck Syndrome. The whole thing was rather unexpected as it was the last day of the New York Comic Con and I was wandering around the vast halls of the Jacob Javits center admiring all the artwork and videos on ... Quick Thoughts: Marvel VS Capcom 3

This past weekend I had the pleasure of playing one of my guilty pleasures, Marvel VS Capcom 3. I was like a kid in the candy store as I stood around the booth and glanced at all the other players. It was bit crowded for my taste, but it was worth standing in line. What I liked most from their booth was the mini-contest going on as everyone stood on this long line to play on the big screen with ... Read More!

NYCC Developer’s Panel: Epic Mickey

This weekend I had the chance to listen to the developers behind Epic Mickey at their NYCC panel. Entering the panel I was a bit puzzled by what was going on, but they were getting stuff checked out and ready before they start of the discussion. I was a bit shocked that they were starting it already. I must say for the time I spent at the panel it was very well put together with few technical ... Read More!

NYCC 2010: Green Lantern TAS Preview

Something new to look forward is the upcoming Green Lantern Animated Series. We may have missed the announcement at the DC panel during NYCC, but Screen Rant has us covered with some really cool pics showcasing sketches, character notes, and more for the upcoming series as well as a shaky cam video preview. I have a bit of apprehension once I see that a TV show has chosen to go the CGI route ... Read More!
